TCAOR hosted a reception of Tuesday, August 31st at a Visalia Rawhide game for members who contributed $197.00 or more in 2010 to the REALTOR® Action Fund. All in attendance enjoyed a no-host social hour and dinner in the Hall of Fame Club as well as reserved seating for the game. TCAOR President, Jeremy Garcia, thanked everyone for their continued support of the REALTOR® Action Fund (RAF) and presented everyone with their RAF Certificates and Pins. Tulare County Supervisor of District 3, Phil Cox, attended the reception and spoke with members. President Jeremy Garcia also informed everyone that this year we were successfully able to negotiate a change in the 30 year old City of Visalia Open House Sign Ordinance & helped preserve property profiles after title companies stopped providing them in a reaction to a letter issued by the Dept. of Insurance; thrice defeated a 3-percent independent contractor withholding proposal that would have accelerated income tax payments for our members; and defeated point-of-sale retrofits proposed through several pieces of legislation that could have added as much as $20,000 per home prior to closing escrow.
